Percodan Guide

Percodan AddictionWhat is Percodan and it's Effects?

Percodan contains a combination of Oxycodone and Acetaminophen, an ingredient found in Aspirin. Percodan is prescribed for pain treatment but is also addictive and overdose can result in death.

The first step to overcoming Percodan addiction is detox. Detox is not a cure for addiction. It is the process during which the body rids itself of all physical traces of Percodan. Detox and withdrawal can be uncomfortable and may involve health risks, making medical supervision an important part of this process. Further treatment or therapy will be necessary for a patient to fully recover and to prevent relapse.

Maintenance treatment is the process of administering diminishing doses of less powerful drugs than Percodan in order to wean the patient away from use. The most common drugs used in maintenance treatment are Methadone and Buprenorphine. These drugs can be addictive themselves, and the process of maintenance treatment should be medically supervised.
