Darvocet Guide

Darvocet AddictionWhat is Darvocet and it's Effects?

Darvocet is a prescription drug that is used for mild pain relief. When taken the drug acts as a depressant on the body’s central nervous system producing a sense of euphoria for the user. Darvocet is available in tablet, capsule, and liquid form and is taken orally.

Darvocet is only slightly more effective than taking an over-the-counter pain reliever. However the drug is an opioid narcotic, meaning that a user can develop a tolerance to the drug. When a tolerance is built, Darvocet users develop a stronger craving and take a higher dosage than prescribed. This creates a dependency for the drug, or an addiction. Darvocet was named by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency as one of the country’s top ten abused drugs.

It is believed that Darvocet kills more people each year than any other drug. Darvocet can be fatal when mixed with other drugs or alcohol and when it is overdosed. In fact, Darvocet is used by many terminally-ill patients wishing to end their lives.

The possibilities of serious health concerns for Darvocet abuse are endless because of the many available substances that the drug is often combined with.

Darvocet abuse is very frightening because of the reputation it holds as a mild pain reliever. Many users believe the effects of taking Darvocet are no worse than taking a Tylenol or Aleve, which could not be further from the truth. Darvocet is extremely addictive and can be lethal. In 2005 the United Kingdom banned the drug and the United States is considering following their lead.
