The Opiate awareness handbooks, manuals, and FREE awareness and prevention trainings for students, parents, and staff of the Clark County School District have reached over 10,000 kids

 

Substance Abuse Awareness Program for Clark County School District Safe and Drug-Free Schools serving approximately 100 students and parents a month at our location alone.

 

Community Outreach Events: National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month Celebration, Nevada Recovery Celebration at Cashman Center, and Recovery Picnic at Lorenzi Park

 

AA and NA 12-step recovery meetings offered 4-7 times daily and open to the public.

 

www.solutions-foundation.org offers a parent tool kit, signs and symptoms, educational material, and treatment resources.

 

The CARE Coalition which serves to increase public awareness through informing and supporting Clark County communities in order to indentify and promote healthy behaviors and reduce substance abuse. Coalition meetings are the 2nd Tuesday of every month.

 

In 2011 we were able to welcome an Executive Director to extend our efforts.

Future projects for 2011 and beyond include:
Underage drinking and marijuana awareness and prevention programs, and handbooks
 
Comprehensive curriculum for methamphetamines, opiates, underage drinking, and marijuana for 6-12th grade students in CCSD
 
K-5 drug awareness and prevention curriculur
