Drugs abuse at an early age not only inhibits physical and mental growth but is also one of the highest causes for teenage death.
At a very young age, children are vulnerable to just about any kind of enticements due to peer pressure and in order to fit into the social scene they will try just about anything, even drugs and alcohol.

The Solutions Foundation encourages schools districts to promote a drug awareness program within their schools. We help provide the education and the tools to students that might otherwise be swayed to a life of drug abuse. The Solutions Foundation teaches them that there is more to life than drugs, and make students aware of the future they may face as a substance abuser.

The Solutions Foundation’s prevention program is designed to help increase interpersonal awareness so that a student might resist taking or using alcohol, tobacco, or other drugs. The Solutions Foundation provides students with the information and skills they need to make healthy decisions when confronted with difficult choices due to peer pressure and lack of education on the effects of drugs and alcohol.

Not knowing the dangers of drug use is one of the main reasons teenagers start to experiment with various substances. While various types of these substances are illegal, drugs are easy to come by. It could be as simple as finding these substances in your own medicine cabinet, or even from friends and family members.

If your child has already experienced drugs and/or alcohol, the task of intervening can be formidable. But research shows that children who learn from their parents about the dangers of underage drinking, illicit drugs, tobacco use, dangerous driving and other risky behaviors are less likely to engage in them.

Once a student has become heavily involved in alcohol or drug use, an intensive substance abuse program to reverse those effects may very well be necessary. The Solutions Foundation provides the resources to help children get the treatment they need to successfully stay clean and sober so they can continue on the path of becoming a healthy adult.

Time is of the essence! Treating the addictions of a young adult is different from treating mature adults. It is an urgent problem because alcoholism and drug addiction can permanently damage not only the brain but also vital organs of young adults. A vast majority of students can go on to live stable, ethical, productive, drug-free lives if detected early enough.

The Solutions Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides awareness, education and treatment to members of the community regarding alcohol and drug abuse in an attempt to strengthen communities and lessen the burdens of government within the state of Nevada. Nevada's statistics on substance abuse and the current shortage of treatment resources has created a significant need for the services provided by The Solutions Foundation.

By reaching out to uninsured and at-risk populations of Nevada, The Solutions Foundation will offer alternative methods of assistance through maximizing insurance, private pay, grants and other funding sources for treatment as well as sponsoring awareness and education programs.
